The London-based publishing company Markosia published the English version of the Persian graphic novel “Jamshid” that is based on the King Jamshid story from the Shahnameh.
Written by Ashkan Rahgozar and illustrated by Faezeh Sepehr Sadeghian, the story follows Zahak’s treacherous rise to the throne in Jamshid in Persia. The young and naive hero Afaridoun must save the kingdom and its people from darkness. But first, he must conquer his own demons in this portrayal of Persian mythology that reveals human nature.
Established in 2005, Markosia has become one of the UK’s leading publishers of graphic novels. The publisher has gained a reputation for producing a diverse range of comic books and graphic novels that cover almost all genres.
